The Paragon FireFly is ideal for low-budget small-scale everything: Art Clay, PMC, Accent Gold, Metal Clay Veneer, china painting, dichroics, enamels, jewellery, glass fusing, sagging, slumping, ceramics, porcelain, pottery, and stoneware.
The Paragon FireFly is a 1290°C cone 10, 1680W, four-sided, square, top-opening, firebrick kiln, with a rotary controller and an easy-to-use digital pyrometer. It can use a regular UK mains socket and, to comply with EU safety regulations, it's fitted with an additional switch that cuts off the power when the lid is opened.
The Paragon FireFly is a low-cost high-temperature kiln. You can fuse glass, make ceramic beads, melt gold, fire pottery, and use most materials and processes. It's a good first-kiln for your home, school, craft workshop, jewellery studio, or an arts centre running jewellery courses. It weighs just 20kg.
The Paragon FireFly kiln is similar to the Skutt FireBox 8. However the FireBox only heats to 1095°C, and costs more. The FireFly price includes the recommended shelf kit and the legally-necessary safety cut-off switch.
The Paragon Fire Fly doesn't have a programmer. However, the controller allows you to adjust the heating and cooling rate. The digital pyrometer, included in the price, gives you accurate temperature feedback so that you can learn more about materials and processes. The pyrometer can be swapped quickly with the thermocouple.
The Paragon FireFly kiln is bought as an Art Clay kiln, ceramics kiln, craft kiln, dichroic glass kiln, glass kiln, glass fusing kiln, hobby kiln, jewellery kiln, precious metal clay kiln, PMC kiln, silver clay kiln, small kiln, or studio kiln, depending on its perceived use.
